mmm...I had a vision on starting my own blog of all my fun experiences as the new band director living in a small town - it had all sorts of fancy pictures, videos, and voice recordings, and great insight from an outsiders perspective on what these small towns are all about- but my dreams are too big to just jump in and start - so I guess I'll just start with updating you about what happened today! I spent all day Friday and all day today in my office and classroom wandering around looking for things that need to be accomplished as I patiently waited for parents to come visit me to see how their children were doing in my class. Yes several (well 10) parents came to peek in and say hi, but once again I found it to be true that I saw only parents of the "good kids" I guess that's why their kids are the "good" ones, because their parents care enough to get involved with their education - but I would think that that cycle would eventually change a little bit. Maybe it's just my wishful thinking.
