Moving Grandma!
Well this weekend was an interesting one. I drove to my parents house just to wake up in the morning and drive 3 hours to my grandma's house. My 87 year old, very independent grandma, whose lived in her own home for over 50 years decided to move in with my parents for the winter months. Meanwhile an apartment opened up that she wanted to move into, leaving our family to think and act very quickly! My mom, dad, grandma, and I drove to her very very cold, full but unlived in home this weekend with a pick-up truck, a trailer, another mid-sized car, and of course several empty boxes!! We quickly rushed around the very cold house packing up all of her belongings, keepsakes, furniture, and decorations. Loading all the big furniture was a task in and of itself, however things took a neat twist as I ran around secretly packing items that would be so easily forgotten had my wacky and sentimental self not been there. After three hours of packing, a cup of coffee, and a restaurant style lunch later, we all headed back to good old Minneapolis. No rest for the wicked, as soon as we pulled in we scurried around unpacking the truck, trailer, and car and pretty quickly we had all of her things rearranged in a new space. Around 7pm we decided to call it quits and go have some dinner. Needless to say, we were all pretty tired and got in a good night's rest. The next morning we all woke up and went to work again, unpacking boxes and putting everything away. As grandma unpacked boxes she found some of the pleasant surprises that I secretly packed - and called me a "little shit" but I know she loved finding those things that will make her new home feel more like her old one! By the end of Sunday her new home was nearly completed and really felt like grandma em's house!!

Yes, Amy you are right on about being wracky & sentimental. Your little treasures were the finishing touches to make a place feel like home. And Grandma was so thrilled at how well it went in such a short period of time.
We love you just the way you are, and thank the good Lord every day for the gift of our beautiful daughter.
