Small Town, New Band Director...and two days away from a concert. Today was our first rehearsal back after a four day (deer hunting) weekend and man my ears hurt - we sounded pretty bad. Some may say that you have a bad rehearsal, you'll have a great concert - and I sure hope that's the case. When I have poor sounding rehearsals sometimes I feel as though I am at fault as their band director, but then I have to think about and remember all of the circumstances that got us to where we are today. I think it was just an off day for me and the kids, and I believe that Thursday night will be just fine. I am my own worst critic and judgement day will come soon enough.

Off for deer hunting. That gave me a laugh- totally forgot about that. Only in MN!!!
